We realise that things happen in life that has an impact on your finances.  That is why pawnbroking exists, to assist you with a short-term loan in times of need.

We also appreciate that this may have an impact on your ability to repay your loan with us, and we recognise that your items, which have been used to secure your loan, may be sentimental to you.

If at the end of the loan period you need a little bit more time to repay and you believe that you can do this with an additional month’s grace, then contact us as we can help.  We would first recommend you telephone or visit the branch which holds your pledged items.  Please check opening times before visiting or phoning the branch where your items are held (click here to obtain branch details) and please bring your pawnbroking contract with you.

Alternatively, the simplicity of pawnbroking allows you to walk away and there are no debt consequences.  No-one will chase you for the debt, we will simply sell your items to repay the loan.  If your items sell for more than what is owed by you, you will be entitled to those monies back.  It is important that we have your up-to-date contact details so we can advise you on the sale proceeds.  If the goods sell for less than you owe, we will write this amount off and you will not need to pay us anything.

We acknowledge that pawnbroking may be just one of your debts and you must manage your financial situation in its entirety.  It is best to prepare a budget of what you can afford, remembering to include your priority debts such as mortgage or rent and utilities such gas, electricity and water.  If you need help with budgeting or prioritising your debts the following organisations can give you free, confidential and impartial money guidance and debt advice:
