Tatiana Sieff from Prestige Pawnbrokers, featured on Channel 4’s Posh Pawn, said: “I imagine that the cupro-nickel version of the coin will become a staple in any personal collection, due to its lower retail value and unlimited production, but the ones to really look out for are the silver and gold proof coins.

“The £55 silver proof coin is already completely fully reserved, so I expect to see a few lucky collectors making a small profit soon.”

However, James started out as a property developer in Surrey and was doing exceedingly well at the time. With funds to play with James decided to set up Prestige Pawnbrokers up after reading an article on asset lending in one of the Sunday papers.

Deborah Papas, gemologist from Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn told “The Duchess of Sussex never ceases to amaze us with the beautiful jewellery she wears.

“She chose to wear an absolutely stand out pair of chandelier style diamond drop earrings in three strands set with white and yellow coloured diamonds.

“Most are round but some are pear shaped to give the stepped drop effect and all set in white gold.

“These drops appear very heavy almost pulling down the lobe but sparkle beautifully even with the slightest turn of the head. Truly stunning.

So how much are they worth? Half a million, according to Deborah.

TV pawn broker James Constantinou has plans brewing… He talks about some of his best property investments.

JAMES CONSTANTINOU, 51, is best known for his pawn empire — his company Prestige Pawnbrokers is the subject of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn documentary series.


But James isn’t just a pawn baron; he’s had an extensive background in property development and has plans for his current home, a five-bedroom detached house he’s renting in Weybridge. The owner wants to sell and James is thinking of buying, knocking it down and building something new in its place.


‘I’ve wanted a swimming pool from the age of 12, and at 51 I’ve never had one. So I’d build a place with an indoor swimming pool and there’s enough room here to do it.
